Time Just Flew By…in the KARE 11 Backyard
How Does It Look Today?
Hard to believe it’s been a year since the landscape renovation of the KARE 11 Backyard was completed and the reveal was broadcast on the evening news. In recognition of the 1-year anniversary of the Backyard, KARE 11 put together a video – a fast-forward look through the seasons in the backyard:
“The Builders Association of the Twin Cities was really great to work with on this project,” said Tim Johnson. “They allowed the professionals to do what they do best while maintaining timely communications among all the different companies participating in the project. It made our job easier,” he added.
Southview landscape designer Tim Johnson is very pleased with how well the trees, perennials, and shrubs have filled in to soften the hardscapes (materials/labor provided by Twin City Fireplace & Stone, with materials from Anchor, and Brock White). Throughout the past year, Southview garden maintenance team has made regular visits to tend to all the plant materials, making sure they are healthy and thriving. The team has also been responsible for switching out annual plant material as the seasons change so there is always a colorful backdrop for the weather and news reports.
When I asked Tim if there was anything he would change about the Backyard, he replied, “Maybe a new fence.” Once a designer – always a designer.
