A Long-blooming Perennial for any Minnesota Garden

Happy Little Yellow Flowers

This perennial is one to seriously consider for your Minnesota gardens.  What’s not to like?!  Coreopsis ‘Zagreb’ has the unfortunate common name of Tickseed but it is a beautiful plant that will bloom from June to September with a little deadheading along the way.  Zagreb and all of the other cultivars of Coreopsis have a mounding habit and looks best when planted in masses.  Zagreb grows to 15″ ht but other cultivars can range from 10-12″ (‘Golden Sphere’) to 24″ (‘Sunray’).  Karen Chapman, co-author of Fine Foliage, has plenty to say about this long-lasting, vigorous plant.
